-> Esta musica é um autentico épico. Gigante. Magnífico. Autentica pérola.

-> Aqui considerei as 2 juntas pois acho que uma complementa a outra. Dps do instrumental mais lindo e espectacular da história, vem uma autentica musica de embalar que diga-se de passagem... é igualmente espectacular. Letra da Strange World é das melhores que os Maiden alguma vez fizeram. Qto à trans, façam um favor: oiçam a partir do minuto 1.30...

-> Melhor entrada de bateria da história. Incrivel. Musica que me deixa completamente frenético e de boca aberta... " No one should fly... where eagles dare..."

6º Aces High
do album Powerslave de 1984
-> Que dizer? LINDO! LINDO! Uma rapidez fora de limites. Musica que se pega logo à primeira vez que a ouves. B-R-I-L-H-A-N-T-E.
Ruuuuuuuuuuun, live to fly, fly to liveeeeeeeeeee, aces hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh!

-> Primeiro gritei que nem um maluco quando vi isto ao vivo. Momentos dps de terem acabado a musica, chorei. Das minhas musicas preferidas de sempre.

4º Powerslave
do album homónimo de 1984
-> Outro clássico. Épico. Imortal. " Tell me why i have to be a powerslave... "
Oiçam com atenção a parte instrumental a partir do minuto 3... (suspiro)

3º Rime Of The Ancient Mariner
do album powerslave de 1984
-> Um dos maiores épicos dos Maiden. 13 minutos e uma das melhores musicas que eles alguma vez fizeram. Simplesmente genial.

2º Phantom Of The Opera
do album Iron Maiden de 1980
-> Imperdivel. De deixar com o sangue a querer saltar das veias... Numa palavra... Perfeito. Só de pensar que já ouvi isto ao vivo...

1º HALLOWED BE THY NAME

-> Palavras para quê? Melhor letra, melhor sonoridade, melhor musica de maiden. A musica que me fez realmente apaixonar por iron... Sem igual

A Matter Of Life And Death

Ora ai está o novo album dos Iron Maiden. A Matter Of Life And Death chegou às lojas há cerca de 2 semanas e já dá que falar. Das criticas que tenho lido, este album tem sido mto bem aceite pela imprensa, o que nao me surpreende pois trata-se dum trabalho mto bem conseguido. Ai fica a minha opiniao.

1. Different World (Smith, Harris)
-> Tipica musica de entrada dum album. Guitarrada rápida sempre a abrir. É uma musica que nao adianta nada à sonoridade dos maiden, mas é sempre agradável de se ouvir.

2. These Colours Don't Run (Smith, Harris, Dickinson)
-> Primeiro grande som do album. É simplesmente bela esta musica. Esta já ficou no ouvido.

3. Brighter Than A Thousand Suns (Smith, Harris, Dickinson)
-> Muitas variações de ritmo, fazendo lembrar mto Paschendale. Embora se torne um bocado repetitiva mais para o fim, secalhar devido aos longos quase 9 minutos, nao deixa de ser uma grande musica.

4. The Pilgrim (Gers, Harris)
-> Curti bastante a maneira como eles cruzam as guitarras nesta. Mto fixe mesmo. Som que também fica no ouvido, a meu ver.

5. The Longest Day (Smith, Harris, Dickinson)
-> Candidata a musica do album. Simplesmente brilhante do inicio ao fim. Lindo.

6. Out Of The Shadows (Dickinson, Harris)
-> Talvez a pior musica do album. Liricamente entao é mesmo a pior. 2 versos, 1 refrão e pco mais... No entanto, o encruzamento entre instrumentos volta a tar simplesmente impecável.

7. The Reincarnation Of Benjamin Breeg (Murray, Harris)
-> Só excelente. Então com todo o mistério que colocoram em torno do B.Breeg tornou a musica ainda mais especial e mais bela. Letra igualmente excelente.

8. For The Greater Good Of God (Harris)
-> Esta, ao contrário da Brighter Than A Thousand Suns, podia ter 15,20 minutos e eu nao me ralava nada. É, a par da Longest Day e Colours, o melhor som deste album. Lindo.

9. Lord Of Light (Smith, Harris, Dickinson)
-> Apesar de nao atingir a genialidade da musica anterior, é uma grande malha. Ao nivel da Brighter Than A Thousand Suns.

10. The Legacy (Gers, Harris)
-> Quando ouvi o inicio desta pensei logo "Eh! Outra 'Journeyman'". Qdo a musica vai ganhando mais ritmo e mais propensao em "rebentar", fiquei doido. Musica excelente. Liricamente espectacular.

Em conclusão, chega-se facilmente à conclusão que trata-se dum grande, grande album dos grandiosos Iron Maiden. Independentemente da idade que já possam ter, os maiden continuam a deixar aos fãs pérolas como estas. Pesado, progressivo, algumas letras tão só brutais, chegando a haver letras que me deixam a pensar "fodase, cm é que foram-se lembrar disto?". Gigante album. Gostei.

Boa noite. Há uns dias, recebi a ultima nota do ano: Comunicações Digitais. Exame que na verdade foi bem mais acessivel do que eu pensava e acabou por ser uma cadeira que se fez com mais à vontade do que esperava. Nao foi de facto o bicho de sete cabeças que tanto ouvia falar. Acabei a cadeira com 12. Not bad Scotty.

Em termos de total de cadeiras feitas, este foi até agora o meu melhor ano e provavelmente já nao devo ter oportunidade para fazer tanta cadeira por ano. Voltei a ter um segundo semestre bom, tal como aconteceu o ano passado, qd também fiz 6 cadeiras. E agora é despachar o que falta, 3 cadeiras que restam e o bacharel é meu.

Ora boas. Isto sai já umas 2 da manhã mas na me apetece dormir... Ando a ouvir que nem um maluco Lynyrd Skynyrd... Já fazia tempos que nao ouvia esta malha. Com tanta coisa, deu-me vontade de fazer um top bandas, aquelas que realmente chegaram ao topo na minha consideração. Vamos fazer prai um top 20.

-> A melhor banda do mundo. Mais nao se pode dizer... Só nao coloco Pink Floyd mais à frente porque, porque... eu realmente venero as 2 primeiras. Mas como fã de musica, tenho de dar o braço a torçer e dizer em voz alta: Pink Floyd possui realmente os melhores musicos de sempre.


2º Black Sabbath
-> Ora vamos ver uma coisa... O mundo sem Sabbath nao teria sido o mesmo. Tamos a falar da banda que revolucionou o mundo do hard/rock(metal) e que inspirou milhares de bandas por esse mundo fora(incluindo os Maiden...). Tamos a falar de clássicos como Paranoid, War Pigs, Iron Man, Black Sabbath, N.I.B., Children Of The Grave, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Sabbra Caddabra, Sweet Leaf, Snowblind.. e estas sao as que consigo recordar agora(tendo em conta que tou agora a ouvir um solo do caralho... Freebird dos Lynyrd Skynyrd). Sabbath só nao é a minha banda favorita porque existe Maiden...


1º Iron Maiden
-> É a BANDA. Aquela que amo. Aquela que venero, que me faz por de joelhos e gritar até à exaustao "EU ADORO MAIDEN". Aquela que me faz decorar todas as letras, todas as notas, todas as batidas. Iron Maiden é sublime, magistral, estupendo, mágico. Sem mais palavras...

Baba O' Riley

Ora tava eu aqui a vasculhar os meus mp3 e eis que dou com a discografia dos The Who. Meto o album "Who's Next" e espeto logo com a Baba O' Riley. Fiquei incrédulo por pensar na potência com que isto nao foi tocado pelos Pearl Jam na segunda, que me deixaram completamente frenético, a saltar parecia um macaco com o cio. Simplesmente lindo, este som é para mim dos melhores de sempre. Brilhante.
